When I started writing about the Sears houses in Massapequa Park, New York back in 2015, I didn't know how many Sears houses were built there or the history behind them. Since then, with a lot of research and some luck, I think we've been able to document all of the Sears houses. I've also been able to put some stories behind how those houses came to be built there. But the research is always ongoing and there may be more to learn and share in the future. History of Sears Houses in Massapequa Park

The history behind the Sears houses in Massapequa Park is pretty fascinating and fairly unique. Most, if not all, of the houses were built with the involvement of two separate development groups developing two different sections of the Village.  

• The Early Sears Houses of Massapequa Park: History related to the 1920s era Sears houses built north of the Long Island Railroad.
• Massapequa Park Mystery Solved?: When I first wrote this blog post, I thought I had figured out the story behind the claims of 100 Sears Houses built in Massapequa Park. But as I've done more research, I've found there's more to the story to tell. At some point, I'll follow-up on this post with another chapter to that story.
