  2. Hello! I've been interested in Sears kit homes since college when my supervisor mentioned that several homes in Vermont were kit homes. I now live in Washington state and want to start looking into homes in the area. I know of one potential kit home. I read through your posts, but I was wondering if you first found potential houses by driving around and then looking into their property records? I'd love to talk with you more about how to get started in my area. I haven't found anyone else near me who has done research, but if you know of anyone in Washington (specifically in Skagit county) I would love to connect with them!

  3. Alaina - Yes, we've found quite a few kit houses by doing a "windshield survey" and then using property records to authenticate the house. I don't know anyone doing research in Washington state specifically but if you e-mail me from here:

we can get you started on the path to researching these homes.
