I believe I own a Sears Kit Home: the Colchester (brick form of the Lewiston), built in 1930 in Dearborn.

DeleteGreat presentation tonight! Sorry we didn't get all the way to the end. You'll have to come back. I used to have a 1920s frame bungalow in Detroit built by the former owners husband and father. I always wondered if it was a kit house.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining us tonight! We're sorry we didn't get to show all of the other houses in the area. Hopefully, we'll be able to do a "part 2" where we show some of the other kit houses around town. We'll also share some of those here so stop back to see what's new. As far as the house in Detroit, if it's still around, leave us an address and we can take a look.
DeleteI own a Greenville in northern Kentucky
ReplyDeleteI see you do a lot of hunting in Westchester. I think there are some SEARS houses on Castle Road and Crossways in Chappaqua. Some look very much like pictures I've seen. My mother thought ours might be one as there were numbers on the joists (IIRC) but I haven't seen a design like ours. Great blog topic!
ReplyDeleteGood eye! There are at least 7 Sears houses in that immediate area including 3 along Orchard Ridge. If you want to contact me with an address, I can take a look.
